Ashley's Closet a Success!

Ashley's Closet is the missionary arm of our youth group. Last year we had a successful clothing drive.  We collected and sorted new and gently used clothing from our community and donated the youth clothing to the local clothes closet for OC students. We also sent several boxes of clothes with our missionaries to Guatemala. Please read this article to learn more about the blanket drive.

Do you know we have over 200 youth in our Oregon City School District that are homeless?  We are kicking off our second annual Ashley's Closet clothing drive.  Please donate new and gently used clothing for youth.  It will benefit local youth in our community.  For your convenience you may drop the clothing off at our church anytime.  We will have a special collection at our Neighborhood Block Party on July 31st too.

Events

Confirmation Retreat - Suttle Lake -- Friday April 8th - Sunday 10th
6 youth and 4 adult leaders are attending this event. We're looking forward to a great weekend together.

CANCELED -> Sunday School & Youth Group
There will be no Sunday School or Youth Group for middle and high school students on Sunday April 10th due to the retreat. See you all on April 17th.

Easter Party -- Saturday April 23rd
Youth group members to assist with egg preparation and coloring, cookie frosting and other activities as needed.

Easter Breakfast
Thanks to handymen at church who have graciously given us an opportunity to serve breakfast on Easter Sunday April 24th! We'd like to invite parents and mentors to help with this event as a way of honoring the youth completing confirmation on Easter. Proceeds to go towards confirmation retreat expenses.

Scholarships
The Oregon-Idaho Conference has recently released some information about academic scholarships that folks may be interested in. Find more information at this link.

Go Camping
Spring has sprung (like a broken water main!) so it's not too early to think about Summer Camp! The 2011 camp catalog is available at www.gocamping.org.

 The OCUMC Youth Group will be helping one of their congregation members, Ray Watts, by leading a group to painting his house on Saturday July 17th. As you can see from the photos here his house needs some work. Please contact us if you would like to help us out. Use our contact page.
